Story of Alma D'oro

Who is behind Alma D’Oro?

The story of Alma D’Oro begins long before the restaurant itself.

For more than three decades, my family has been deeply involved in food manufacturing and craftsmanship throughout Europe and the Mediterranean, places where food is more than just a product. It’s a craft, a tradition, and a responsibility.

Growing up, I was surrounded by it all. From ingredients and sourcing decisions to production floors and the daily discipline required to create food properly. In our world, quality wasn’t something you aimed for, it was simply the standard. You didn’t take shortcuts, and you didn’t compromise on ingredients.

Those values stayed with me.

When I eventually moved to New York, I quickly realized something. Comfort food was everywhere, but comfort food made with truly great ingredients and real attention to technique was much harder to find. Especially at a price people could enjoy regularly, not just for special occasions.

That gap became the inspiration for Alma D’Oro.

The goal was simple: create food that feels indulgent and comforting, but crafted with the same respect for ingredients and quality that I grew up with. Familiar dishes, elevated through better sourcing, better preparation, and a commitment to doing things the right way.

Alma D’Oro wasn’t created to be a place people visit once just to try something new. It was built to become a place people come back to, a place where families gather, where friends meet, and where great food becomes part of everyday life.

Because at the end of the day, the best food isn’t just memorable, it’s the kind you crave again and again.

And this is only the beginning.
